About

This all started with my mom and dad.  Dad was a truck driver and mom was a stay-at-home parent/homemaker.  This was all well and good until Dad got sick.  Once that happened, he was forced to medically retire.  Then he passed away.  At that point, things looked dire for my mom.  We didn't know what our options were or how she'd survive.  That problem is how this site was born.  I did a ton of research trying to figure out what programs existed to help her.  And that led me to realize that if she needed help with finding and knowing how to apply for public benefits, then maybe other people do too.  That's how stepbystepbenefits.com was born and the mission remains the same.  Share the knowledge I've gained with others.  Help them navigate the complex government bureaucracy standing between them and the help they need.  While this website isn't a non-profit, I really hope it helps all of its customers to get the help they need.
